The United States has in recent years added a new dimension to its pattern of interaction with Asia-Pacific countries with the construction and bolstering of several minilateral mechanisms throughout the region. Japan and South Korea are keen on discussing their participation in the AUKUS, while the Philippines is overtaking India and becoming increasingly active in the US-led initiatives.
